What should I do, with a burn on my face? Caught it on an oven tray at the weekend, couldn't see to check the food was cooked, very high oven shelf, and hit my face on the edge of the tray. I haven't put anything on it, apart from cold compress when i did it, have also tried to keep it dry, very difficult! But its just really stinging now and feel so awkward about people seeing it and so afraid of it scarring. Do I need to get it seen to by a doctor

yes you need to see a doctor if you have had quite a serious burn.

put antiseptice cream (such as Savlon) on it to stop infection. you need to keep the burn very clean - so no makeup whatsoever.

has the burn blistered at all?

It didn't blister as soon as i had done it, just was stinging and my cheek felt huge!! It has blistered slightly now and after finally rinsing my face this morning, was told to keep it dry for 24 hours, some of the top came off
have you called NHS Direct if you don't want to visit your gp? they will be able to assess the seriousness of the burn.

from what you say, it doesnt seem too serious, but then again I can't see it and i'm not a doctor.

if your worried that it may be a serious burn, then go see your local nurse/gp immediately.

keep it dry and keep it clean - especially if the blister has broken - broken blisters are prone to infections on burns. try not to aggravate the skin by touching the burn or the skin around it either. if you have long hair, keep your hair tied back to it does not irritate and spread bacteria to the blister.
Too much to hope that anyone caught that on video, I don't suppose?

You'd be a dead cert for You've Been Framed.

You should really consult a doctor because its on your face(could interfere with your breathing or sight etc) Don't put any creams etc on it.
My advice is seek medical help as soon as poss especially if it hurting.
