hi all, my mom has been with her partner for 4 years, they are not married but have a brought house together. mom is really miserable in the relationship. although he has never hit her and dont think he ever would, he is just very controlling and makes her so unhappy. she is not working at the moment as she is half way through her teaching course which is a full time course. he earns good money so has been able to sport the house with plenty left over. she would now like out but dont know where to go, she understands that she will have to put her course on hold and get a full time job, but is there help out there for people i finding a deposit for a rented property as she has no money. also he refuses to sell the house but cannot buy her out, where does she stand with this, can he be forced to sell,
as anyon else been in a relationship like this that can give a bit of advice x

They could come to an agreement between themselves, where she could sign the house over to him and he gives her the deposit money for a rented place?

he wont do this as he dont want her to go
Yes, he can be forced to sell. Your mother can apply to the court and the order won't be refused.

Tell her to go to Citizens' Advice Bureau.

There is no help for people who own their homes to get deposits to rent.
