An ultrasound and a subsequent MRI has shown that my gallbladder has collapsed, both were takes when the gallbladder should have been full. I did pass a stone with excruciating pain in May followed by sickness and then followed by sicking up bile. The sickness and fullness/bloating has continued. Has anyone come across this condition?

No, but just bite the bullet and have the op to remove your gallbladder (it can be done quite easily nowadays thru keyhole surgery). Once you have these sorts of probs there is no going back. I had the op years ago and have had no worries since. My surgeon said it was better to remove it when I was fit and well and had no other medical things going on, than to wait until I was older and maybe had high BP or something worse.
yes I had this problem as a 14 year old, I was treated for ulcers for many years, until at the age of 32 they found the cause, same as yours, I had the gall bladdder removed wich was quite a serious op in those days, 1971, after that i was eating anthing and every thing and went from a 9 stone weakling to a 13 stone fit person in no time, nowadays it's a simple op as megan says, it's done by key hole surgery,
but after it is done, and i don't know if they tell you this nowadays, your system loses its ability to remove fat, thus increasing risk of high cholesterol, which was my downfall,
i ran high cholesterol until in 1985 i had a mssive heart attack, I was saved by a very clever cardiologist, and have had two bypass ops since,
don't let this put you off, just watch your diet afterwards.
i've had my gallbladder removed by keyhole surgery. The pain stopped immediately!
When I went for my six week post op check, I jumped off the bed and gave my consultant a big hug!
It absolutely changed my life!
My doctor had recommended the surgery after a scan found 13 gallstones (I still have them!). He said if it's made them once, it can make them again.
If in doubt - take it out!! x
can anybody help, tests and ultrasounds have shown that my gall bladder is full of stones , then last week I had a mri and it shows no stones, I don't understand does anybody ?????
