Where can I get free haircuts?

I am a 36 year old male with very abundant hair, which I have to get cut very often, or it looks like a bird's nest. The trouble is I am on a very low income, and can not afford the cost of haircuts. I understand that some Schools of Hairdressing offer free haircuts to those brave enough to put themselves forward as a model. I would be willing to do this, as I am sure if anything went wrong with the haircut the supervisors would take over. I live in the Shropshire area, by the way, but can travel on trains free, so am willing to travel to get free haircuts.

Check out if any of your local salons need models as this is often free. The only other place I can think of is Tony and Guy but that's on (or was when I worked there) down Tottenham Court Road in London.

Try your local College. They usually have hairdressing courses and require people to practice on!

Look for ur local hair colleges. Some salons offer free haircuts by junior stylists (to build their clientele).

Any college student will cut your hair gladly, they need the practice, but be warned sometimes it can turn out a disaster. Come up to Cumbernauld and I'll cut your hair for free, I need the practice. ;o))

I work in a college and they do free mens haircuts every Thursday. A student cuts it but is always supervised by the teacher. its very good but be prepared to be there for a long time as it is a very lengthy practice.

Agree with boogieboogie- invest in some hair clippers, after the obvious initial payment of buying them in the first place, your hair cuts will be free for ever more! Mr Boo hasn't paid for a haircut for at least 5 years now.
