I got my period on the 29th August, which lasted until 5th September. I got another period on the 10th September, which lasted until 17th and then I started another period on 20th Septermber, which is still here.

All in all, I have had 6 period free days since the first day of the original and scheduled period on 29th August.

This morning when when I got up I found a lump of flesh in the blood. It wasn't the normal jelly like blood clot, but a solid piece of flesh around half an inch long and quarter of an inch wide.

My intial thought was I have miscarried very early on without knowing I was pregnant, but because I've had a period pretty much non stop makes me wonder if it's something else.

I'm worried there's something wrong with me.

Go and see your doctor, better to be safe than sorry. I'd be down there this morning if it was me. Good luck
ditto
get to see your doctor asap
miscarrying before you know you're pregnant is very common (it's often because there's something wrong with the foetus; mother nature is sorting it out herself). But go see your doctor for anything unusual like this.

I can't get a doctor appointment until next week.

If it was a miscarriage, then is the bleeding I have right now a period or something else?

I'm inexplicably upset if it is really is a miscarriage.
Latte you should be able to get a quicker appt if you really push it, can you talk to the nurse she will have some say and maybe get you a quicker appt!!!
If you can't get an appointment - I know the receptionists are sometimes little Hitlers - ring the NHS number (08454647) and they will make an appointment for you.
your doctor really ought to see you sooner than that for a problem like this, even if it turns out to be nothing worrying. Why not call NHS direct and ask them

Right medical receptionist here( well trained, currently working at a homeless hostel), we are not little Hitler's we simply have rules to go by doctors available, slots available etc. You can ask for an emergency appointment the same day and insist on sitting there until you are seen.
Alternatley as above mentioned see a nurse, or insist on speaking to one, they can usually be found, i have had to do this myself from time to time with residents and i ahve demanded to speak to a nurse. It can be done, hang on in there you need to see someone, a continual bleed for this amount of time is more than a little worrying.

Hi, I just went to my GP surgery, explained to the receptionist what was going on and got a doctor almost instantly.

The doctor has taken blood samples to find out if the pregnancy hormone is in my system to determine if it was a miscarriage for sure, it's certainly pointing in that direction as the second 'period' was more of a brownish blood followed by this current 'period' of very red blood with the clots and the flesh that was there this morning.

If it wasn't he is concerned about the amount of blood I have bled since the 29th August and will be looking into why this is happening.

I know deep down it was a miscarriage though. Not a planned pregnancy and it wasn't a 'baby' at this early stage but I'm upset by it all the same.

Thank you for your help x

My thoughts are with you hun, i hope it works out ok for you at least you have now seen someone and are on the road to answers!
