itching lumps on head

my husband is 80yrs old and recently small itchy lumps
have appeared on his head and he feels almost as if he has lice or something running over his scalp although there is nothing to be seen. Is this a common problem with age?

This is not common. I am a cosmetologist and from what you're describing, this is a scalp condition that needs immediate treatment from a dermetologist.

I had the same problem about 2 years ago when I was 71 and my GP recommended a shampoo called `Ketopine` which cleared my head and it hasn`t come back since.

Could be 'shingles' or 'scabies' the doc will know and get it treated
