Very anxious about interviews
11 Answers
Hi all
I am really nervous. I have 3 interviews with the same employer coming up on friday and I am very anxious as I have done badly in them in the past. Also I havent been to one in quite a while. I really would love to get a job in this place and I have 3 opportunities, I just dont want to mess things up again like I have done in the past.
Is there a drug that helps to reduce anxiety or have you got any self help techniques for relaxation? Thanks all

Don't know yet how this will affect me but if it makes you a bit like a robot, this might not come over well!
Best thing is: take deep breaths, tell yourself the others aren't better than you and be yourself. The moment you start acting, means the job isn't for you.
Deep breathing is very beneficial so practice and notice the difference.

As with being frightened of visiting the dentist, sometimes a doctor might agree to prescribe just 1 or 2 valium tablets, in a very mild dosage, but i agree with what the others've said. Try rescue remedy, and take a few deep breaths before going into the interview room, then exhale slowly. Walk in looking confident, even if you're shaking, give a nice smile - and if the worst comes to the worst - admit that you're a little nervous, because you so want to work at this place! Best of luck.
There are 2 ways to feel good.
1-Make the picture funny.
2-Increase your self confidence.
1) in your mind make things funny, like the eyes of interviewer, imagine its like some funny eyes like Donald duck,
2)feel like you own the place, when you sitting out side to go for the interview, feel like the chair is yours, you are the CEO , you pay there salary, your management just want to chat to you that's all.
and go like a king.
Good luck.

HI
I used to have an interview phobia. Found one thing helped. Get a beautiful pebble/ stone from somewhere. Hold it and visualize doing really well in your interview. (If negative thoughts, worse case scenario thoughts creep into your mind just remind yourself to visualise this going really well). Then hold the stone in your hand in the interview, every time you get nervous, clutch it abit harder and remember the positive visualisation.
good luck
