I have been having a lot of health problems - severe vomiting every now and again, flatulence and stomach cramps after eating, bad headaches, needing to drop asleep quite suddenly, fatigue, hormone imbalance.

Recent blood tests showed low calcium levels and deficient immune system.

I have been reading up online and think I have acidosis, chronic build-up of acid in the body (blood, cells etc) that can cause all of the above symptoms and especially calcium lack because the body starts to borrow calcium from the bones to make it more alkaline.

Most of the info online is herbalist/ alternative - does anyone know of a good medical source where I can find out more about this, causes, treatment etc.

I am seeing the doc again on monday and hospital tests to follow (I do not have H Pylori, tested clear of that)

There seeems to be 2 differing situations here:
1 ) Hyocalcaemia..low calcium levels
2 ) Acidosis....raise in pH of body fluids/

I cannot think of a medical condition which combines the two.

The low lood calcium will need further investigation, as there are many causes.

You have made the diagnosis of Acidosis from your internet search and do not want to comment on that further.
Error....Lowering of pH in body fluids....apologies.
Take a calcium supplement for starters, and you could also try Echinacea to boost the immune system. Sounds like you could also do with a detox if you stomach is hurting after eating- that could be an intolerance. I always recommend Carol Vorderman's detox (book) as it is amazing and really does help you sort out health problems.
Scarlett, it does not answer the 2main questions:
1 Why has she got a low blood calcium level
2 What evidece has she that she has a deficient immune system and IF she has what is causing it to be deficient?
sqad.. I am not a doctor. But if the Doc has said she has low calcium levels, then surely to take a supplement may help? Like if you have low iron levels. Calcium (am I correct in this?), cannot be stored by the body so you have to take it regularly in the form of food or supplements. I have to take calcium on prescription as I have U colitis which can affect your bones and bone density. Similarly, if your immune system is deficient, Echinacea may give it a boost. I would always try these herbal remedies before wading in with the heavy duty drugs from the doctor, but if there is an underlying disease then it is the doctor's job to diagnose that. I was just trying to be helpful, as is the job of us AB-ers, on here.

thanks for your replies
Wrist slapped and will try and modify my answers in future, but my point is that if she cannot absorb calcium by mouth there is no point in giving it.....like pouring water through a collonder.
The treatment of low calcium levels is the treatment of the cause. But have taken your point.
