Got my first counselling session today

but I'm going to have to ask work if I can leave at 3.30 because I'm without my car this week and have to get a bus there. It's going to be such a rush as supposed to be having 1 hr session but going to ask if we can just make it 30 mins today as I have to get to college for my accounting course for 6. Appt with counsellor at 5.

it sounds as if you wont get much from a session that youre going to be rushing.

are you sure you want to go?

why not try and rebook for a time when you can spend a full hour without looking at your watch and thinking of being elsewhere

I have to go now really - 5 was the perfect time when I booked it cus I finish work at 5 so wouldn't have been too bad asking to leave half hour early, but then now I've got a place on this course and that starts at 6 its mucked the appt right up. I need to go though cus I've been waiting ages plus I haven't got the counsellors phone number.

well i hope that youve already asked your boss if you can leave early so that you can just ask to go a bit earlier.

best you make next appt for a day other than the accounts course so that you dont rush again

Just curious as to why you agreed to an appointment at 5 knowing you had to be somewhere else at 6???
The first hour is important on a first time counselling session so please please make another appointment when you can spend quality time with them to 'get it all out'
although one hour is nowhere near enough usually......

lol just read your answer..... ring the place where your appointment is for your counsellor.... presuming it's NHS they'll change the appointment.

Like I say, when I booked the appt for the counselling I didn't know I was going to be on this course

I just phoned the surgery and the counsellor is fully booked so can't get appt earlier so just going to see if I canstay for half an hour. Nothings ever simple is it :-)
