dodgey throat??

For a few days i feel as if there is something stuck on the right side of my throat! i cant physicallysee or feel a lump, but its quite annoying, no pain though! has anyone experianced this before?

It could be an ulcer. I've had them at the back of my throat before and they are very irritating.

thanks for your quick response. dont think its an ulcer as theres no pain, however the other thing sounds interesting,although i did have my tonsils removed when i was 9 so not sure if its poss for me to have tonsil stones. thanks anyway!! julie

It could be a Quinsy, i've had two, and they are not nice, thay start out as an irritant, and grow.

Don't know your age, or whether or not you have earache, or indeed a smoker. All the previous suggestions are unlikely for various reasons. Make an appt with yr GP and he will get an ENT appt for you so the larynx could be checked.

i.ll go to the doctors tommorow, and see what he says. squad617... im 40yrs old non smoker, slightly overweight and no earache! however i am obsessed that ive got bad breath (for last 18months)doctor gave me zantac 150mg but dont know if they worked as one cant smell ones own breath! thanks for all other anwsers too, you,re a fab bunch of abbers xx

ive never experienced the symptoms you have but i have had something similiar.

camel throat similar to camel toe. very painfull.try gargling with salt water.HTH

OK, two points.

First - you may have scratched your easophagus (sp?) with something sharp when you swallowed. This will make the lining swell for a day or so, which feels like something stuck, even though there isn;t - and it will go down.

Secondly - you can smell your breath.

Find a patch of skin on your inner arm where you haven't sprayed perfume. Stick your tongue out as far as possible, and lick the patch of skin, get as much of your tongue on your arm as you can - lick for about four inches.

Let the saliva dry, and smell it. That smell - or not, as the case may be, is what your breath smells like today.
