Art - not porno. And why not female?

I have been asked to write out my xmas wish list. I have seen a painting of a female nude - very tasteful, no genitalia showing - just in black & white with a lot of shadowing; just the breasts showing & head thrown back. I would like to put it up in my bedroom - which is black/cream/turquoise with cream french furniture. My BF thinks it's weird that I want a female nude - why? This is art, not porno. Wanting a female nude as opposed to a male does not a lesbian me make does it? Is he the weird one for thinking it is a bizarre request? It is just admiration of the female form & a very tasteful classy painting (expensive too, I might add - is this his real reason for objection?!!)

Art is in the eye of the beholder. Someone else may think the painting is cr@p - but I like it, so that's all that matters.

I can see his point, sort of - I would think it weird if he had a painting of a male nude on his bedroom wall - but women aren't quite the same in that way. Are they? They can appreciate female forms as 'art' rather than just as titillation or thinking phwoar......

I think some tasteful female nude art is beautiful, similarly with those lovely statuettes.

The female form is a beautiful thing though, for me, nothing graphic as such.

Maybe you should suggest swapping it for a male nude then he may not find the idea of a female one quiet so unappealing ;)

Female nude art seems peaceful/passive/innocent whereas male nudes appear confrontational/aggresive....to me.

It depends whether the wily wonka is passive/ innocent/peaceful I supose?! Pointing it like a glistening spear of a man of Harlech can be quite confrontational & seemingly aggressive.

Although many a nip has caused a man to wonder "are you pointing those at me love?".
