Sonographer telling babies gender at 13 weeks
I didn't know it was possible to tell the gender of a foetus so early in a pregnancy.
My daughter had her dating scan last week and she is 13 weeks +3 days. The sonographer said that the baby is definitely a boy and my daughter could clearly see this was true from the monitor. This means she will have two boys under the age of two by next summer :-O
Looks like my grandma duties will be called upon more often.lol

She also said that it is a large baby and if it continues to grow at this rate will be around 10lbs at birth. I know when I had scans at this stage with my own 3 they were not this detailed.
I only ever had a dating scan with both my pregnancies, on my second, at approx 10 weeks, the testes are clearly visible on the scan, but they have a policy of not telling the sex so they didn't say anything!
p.s. daffy, I have 2 boys 13 months apart - it's not as bad as you think - just bundles of energy when they were little - and still are, but friends for life - very close and they always have a friend to play with. ;o).
Best of luck for the new arrival.

Hi Daffy - maybe that's a girl thing - a colleague of mine has two girls, now teenagers, that are only a year appart and they don't get on either - never have.
My two obviously have their moments, and they have separate friends, but they really do enjoy each others company 95% of the time. They even chose to share a bedroom as they like being together and I like to hear them chattering away to each other before they drop off to sleep. I think they have the same sense of humour so that helps - but then don't all boys fine the same things funny?
Willow tree do a lovely ornament called brothers which would be an ideal gift when the baby is born.

Congratulations Shaunzy :)
There is always the chance that the baby won't be facing the right way during any scan and the sonographer won't be able to see the gender at all. That happened in my last two pregnancies and I had to wait until the birth to find out.........I had actually guessed right on both though!
