hi , I have really really dry skin on my eye lids i try not to itch but when i do sumtimes its sore and looks like im wearing red eyeshadow andi hate it but ive tried everything e45 sudo crem vasaline and everything i use either doesnt clear it up or it stings big time ? any help out there

Could it be excema? Have you tried a very mild hydrocortisone cream? x

can i buy that over the counter or do i have to go to the doctors ?? i thought if it was exzma then the e45 would of helped but that just made it red and sting

try some anti-histamin pills. Keep up with the vaseline. Ur allergic to something?

no i havent changed anything at all not even down to shamppo soap wash powder nothing ??

Skin & hair can build resistance to your usual products.

Manfacturers could have added something new?

Eczema and othe dry conditions can flare up when the cold weather comes - has it started just recently? Perhaps you could go see your GP who may be able to prescribe something if it is eczema, but I would say to try an aqueaous cream and don't wash with soap but use something like Oilatem.

You have to read the label on the cream- i don't think all E45 creams containd hydrocortisone. It could be an allergy- it's possible to develop an allergy to something you've used for ages. I can't use lip liner pencils any more.

could be blepharitis troublesome but not serious try bathing your lids with a weak tepid solution of baby shampoo and warm water it is very effective and contains a mild antiseptic without being harsh

You could have a food allergy. I suggest you go see a dermatologist about it. Our most sensitive parts are effected first, I think.

If it is eczema (which it sounds like), you can buy hydrocortisone 1% cream over the counter now (you didn't used to be able to), but the problem is that it is a steroid which over time thins your skin.

Obviously the skin on your eyes is not only very delicate, but already thin, so you'd need to make sure this is definitely what is wrong with you before trying it.

If you can't get to your doctor, try a pharmacist, who might even be able to suggest something better
