I have recently started taking the mini pill and i wondered what experiences others had had on it.

Can anyone reassure me that the periods settle down after a couple of months or so or did you find it was longer or worse still, they didnt settle at all. :-( Just over two weeks now and im fed up! :-(

HI unrulyjulie.

I have just started on Cerezette again after a year break (due to having a major op).

My periods stopped altogether the first time around but it did take atleast a month to settle down. This time I had a period for 10 days and since then no more bleeding. If you are still having problems after three months then I suggest maybe a visit to the nurse just to discuss your concerns, but give it a chance to get in to your system.

Good luck

Thanks icemaiden, im really hoping that things settle down soon to be honest, im gonna give it a bit longer and see how it goes.
Hi unrulyjulie. I am on Cerazette and have been for years. When I first started taking it, my periods were on and off for a long time, i'd say a good 4 -5 months. I hated it and thought that it wasn't working, then after that time, they settled down and I didn't have anything atall for a good couple of years. Recently I got a period, however, I believe this to be because I stopped taking my pill regulary (as Im not in a relationship so didnt really need it), anyways, as soon as i started taking it again, I am back to having no periods atall. Love it! I'd say stick with it. it just takes time for your body to get used to it.
I hope this helps.
Hi Unrulyjulie

I have been taking Cerazette for over 8 months now, and the first 2/3 months were awful. I was bleeding heavily all the time, which made me really fed up. I was trying it as I had very heavy periods, and had become severly anaemic because of it. After the first few months, it did start to settle, and now I have very light periods, and they are fairly far apart. Good luck.
