Advice please

This device cannot start. (Code 10)

I am trying to connect a new mp3 player to my pc but i keep getting the above code - when I check the device in device manager it appears with an exclamation mark inside a yellow symbol. I know this means there is an error, but I've managed to set one player up & a web cam (with difficulty on the web cam). I've tried a different USB port to no avail, also gone through the troubleshooter etc.

Can anyone advise on what may be wrong? Any advice helpful ps the PC is approx 6 mths old/second hand from a trusted source.

What make is the MP3 player? did it come with an install disk?

Its a sansa & yes it has a disc which is basically diverts you to a pdf of how it all works. The problem seems to be the usb connector; not the one on the pc (i've tried all of them & they work ok) - i've also tried another usb connector which worked on another player, but thats still not letting the pc recognise the device either

Try going to the manufacturer's website and see if they have some drivers for the device,if they have then download and install them,reboot the PC and try to connect the MP3 player again.If it still doesn't work then you may have to take it back to the retailer it was bought from.
