Why would a dr require a SITTING and STANDING blood pressure reading of an elderly lady who is having falls?

sorry taht should be a LYING DOWN reading and a STANDING Reading.

It could be postural hypotension where the blood pressure falls when standing and causes the fall.

They measure the difference to see if there is any difference if you get what I mean.

I'd say sitting should be taken first.

ok no worries - i've fond the answer myself - its to detect posural hypotension.
