i am 14 and there is this boy i fancy who is 16- i know him because he is in the same band that i am in. not that long ago we went on a band trip and he was tickling me and things like that - was he flirting with me? and how can i let him know i like him without telling him?

Yes he was flirting with you!! best thing is to get a mutual friend to tell him you like him. Then if he doesn't like you, your friend can tell you, and you still maintain your relationship with him, with no embarrassment!

Problem being that most boys don't trust that method anymore, because it's abused so often to mess around and have a laugh at the guys expense

why not tell him? why do so many people have an aversion to rejection? its just possible he might repspect your honesty instead of playing games. Act more grown up than most grown ups and just be open to yourself and those you like.

Why dont you write that you like him on a large white sheep.  Release the sheep and chase it down the street quickly until you pass him in the street.  He will not only respect your honesty but also respect your sheep chasing ability.
