a glass jar holds a single germ. After one minute the germ splits into 2 germs. One minute after that, the 2 germs split again, forming a total of 4 germs. Continuing at this rate a single germ can multiply to fill the whole jar in exactly one hour.

Knowing this how many minutes would it take to fill the jar if you had started with 2 germs.

i dont know where my brain is today thank you 59 is right... i had it in my head it was 30 lol
yes, must be 59 minutes. Having two germs in the glass is exactly the same situation as it was after one minute in the first scenario in which it took 60 minutes to fill the glass, so in the second scenario the glass will be full 59 minutes later
