When one takes a round of antibiotics, the wise followup is to take probiotics to aid the healthy
production bacteria of the gut.

l) Does one take them while still on antibiotics?

2) Can one overdo it? Take it for too many days....etc.

I have always had problems taking antibiotics as they give me an upset stomach.

However, when I recently had to have some I had one of those Yakult drinks every morning and found that stopped the problem.
I dont find activia and the likes any use (only my opinion know they must work for some). It was recommended I buy Acidophilus tablets from Holland and Barrat. Easy to take capsules and I take them periodically not all the time although it does not advise you against taking them all the time. I get thrush any time I have antibiotics so as soon as they are prescribed I start taking these and all has been fine - recommended to a friend who was the same and all was fine with her too.
