Following another answer I posted people have kindly asked about my nose.

I can't tell you how impressed I am. I had been nosebleeds for 3 months - any time of day or night, no warning, some were very heavy. As many as three in a day, and some days none at all.

Saw the GP on Thursday, booked my appointment under the 'choose and book' scheme - first available appointment was for ten past two on Monday.

Half past two I was on my way home after having the vessels cauterised. Not painful in any way, just a tiny bit uncomfortable.
Felt fine ever since although I am aware of the scabs inside my nose and no nose bleeds.

Could not have had better attention had I gone private. :)

All I can say Ethel is that the choose & book system around your way works a damn sight better than the one here at our surgery! Nothing but a nightmare. In fact choose&book are swear words around here.

But, I do have to defend the good old NHS.

Glad you've got it sorted. Chin up (it helps..) x
It's supposed to be a release valve isn't it, the nose?
My father keeps getting nosebleeds now, but he has very high blood pressure. It's quite frightening at the time, blood suddenly gushing from your nose isn't it?
Glad you have got yours sorted now though.
:-)
I'm dead chuffed for you, and fingers crossed that the cauterisation works.

All you have to do now is stop your index finger from straying towards the scabs...
I cannot imagine Ethel every doing such a thing...?!

Surprisingly I have never had a problem with my blood pressure - the vessels have just become exposed.

The nice man who did it says he sees this sort of thing a lot with people who take cocaine, and he asked me if I used it.

I asked him how much he was selling it for.

What a wit I am.

Aww, glad it's help you and no more nose bleeds :o) x
I'm so glad the cauterisation seems to have worked Ethel & hope the scabs soon disappear - not by straying fingers I might add! ;o}

When it works, choose and book is a fantastic idea. Glad you're all sorted.
That's good news Ethel. My son was the same- nosebleeds nearly every day from the age of 7 till he had the same op when he was 10.
How's the MG going? xx
