under eye twitching

Hi, just under my eye i have had a twitch for a whole week, it just looks like a muscle is contracting but is there anyway to stop this or does anyone know why i have got this?

I get this from time to time. I was told by a GP that its usually associated with being tired and run down and feeling a bit stressed. I get it if I go through a period of not sleeping very well, or if I have an important or stressful task to do.

It goes away when i am not under pressure so whilst it's irritating its clearly a sign....

definitely stress or tiredness related, try too relax.

I've been getting the same problem every day for around 3 months now. Not all day, but certainly every day and it's most annoying.

I'd love to be able to stop it happening.

According to my mother, if your right eye is twitching, it means bad news and vice versa for the left.

I get it when I'm tired and run down too.

I had it, i think i was stressed. I also used a cooling eye gel.

It is lack of quality sleep. An occasional nap won't help, you need more continuous night time sleep

Go to bed earlier.

I do wish Velvetee didn't say it means bad luck if its the right eye, cause mine is the right eye and my week isn't going that great so far. Thanks for your answers though.

Eye twitching is a sign of too much caffeine.
