my friend is severely injured. She lost her sight in one eye and suffered severe burns after being splashed by a corrosive chemical that leaked from a Storage tank being prepared for internal cleaning. At the time of the incident there was no-one on the premises trained in first aid and the emergency shower and eye wash facilities were out of action.
1.Identify the relevant regulation made under health & safety and explain the possible consequences of management not abiding by the requirements of the appropriate legislation.
2.Could you explain which health & safety regulations have not been followed and include what provision should have been provided.
3.What are the reporting actions that should have been carried out and could there any financial implications.
I really need this to help my best friend, any help would be great.
thanks a lot I really appreciate it

1) does she have a claim
2) what is that claim
3) who does she sue
4) what is the likely quantum
5) how to pursue that claim.
This sounds horribly like a bit of law homework dressed up to sound like a genuine problem. Generally people could not give a fiddlers about your three points. They want to know the points you have listed above.
I am always willing to help people where I can, but it is extremely difficult when people are not completely honest.
Perhaps you can answer these questions:-
1) why was your friend on the premises?
2) if employed, what training had she been given
3) was safety equipment provided
4)what training had she received in the safety equipment
5) what does the medical report say about the causative effects of there being no first aider and no eyewash on site - how have they contributed to the injury?
6) If she was not on the premises as an employee, why was she there?
7) What was she doing when the splash occured?
1) does she have a claim
2) what is that claim
3) who does she sue
4) what is the likely quantum
5) how to pursue that claim.
