Finding thorn in tyre
1 Answers
I had two front-wheel punctures today. After the first I slapped on a new tube and got a further 5 miles before the second. I guess there must be a tiny thorn embedded in the tyre, although I gave it a good checking at the roadside before I put the new tube in.
At the moment the tyre and tube are still positioned as they were at the time of the second puncture.
Is there a good way of marking the tyre/tube so that when I get round to fixing it I will be able to "line up" the place in the tube where the bubble are coming from with the corresponding place on the tyre?
Or is there a better way to find foreign bodies in tyres?
Thanks in advance

Unfortunately, unlike the inner tube, the tyre can sit anywhere around the rim, so theres no real way of being certain where it was. Best thing you can do is what you've done and keep the 2 layers aligned so that when you find the hole in the tube you can give that area on the tyre a good looking at.
Never found any better way than running my hand around the inside of the tyre to find the thorn though
