Whats the difference between a full head of highlights and a half head. With full head do they cover all your natural colour up?

I believe that with a half head.. they will only highlight the top half of your head.. so not the hair underneath.. so for example if you were to tie your hait up in a very high pony tale.. the hair underneath would be highlight free...

I have always had a half head of highlights done rather than full as the hair underneath cannot be seen much anyway (depending on your cut of course!).
