I am getting married in July this year. I have been thinking about having a hen night, but I know a lot of my friends cannot afford anything big, so I was wondering if anyone had any ideas for something simple, cheap and fun and maybe that my 14 year old daughter could do too?

(I do wonder though why my friends didn't think twice about three hen nights, getting married abroad and various other multiple celebrations, when I was a single parent and living off my own income.....did they think about what I could afford?)

I often wonder that my mate had a hen week abroad last year, luckily I managed to get there. But it seems that for most now, my other mate is having a spa weekend costing 200.00 quid this year and then next year another mate wants to go to Spain!!! Just sort a bus to a place where you can have a meal then boogie. is there a chicago's near you?
Yes, my sister in law was equally thoughtless - her hen party consisted of a weekend in Benidorm and also a weekend at a health spa, neither of which me or my mum could afford to go to.

I agree with 4getmenot, a meal and then a boogie sounds good although not sure your 14yr old would be able to do the boogie part!!
oh no its dancing to a 14yr olds boogie to us oldies :-)
How about a fun activity such as 'Go Ape' or It's a knockout', there's one near Nottingham, so I hear. Or even a weekend in Butlins/Pontins, tacky but cheap & cheerful!!!

I agree about expensive weekends away. My daughter stipulated to her bridesmaids, who are arranging her hen night, nothing abroad so everyone can join in, what a lovely girl!!
Why not send your fiancee out for the night and have a girly night in with all your friends, get lots of bubbly in and a takeaway, clear your room out and have a party there. Therefore your daughter could join in. No matter where you are if your with the right people you will have a memorable night regardless. ps good luck for your big day!
How about a theme park? Like Alton Towers or Thorpe Park?
