parole, while on ipp?

my boyfriend was convicted of gbh with intent he recieved an ipp sentence, of 5 years, tarriff being 2 and a half years. he has 10 months left before the tarriff, he has been doing his courses, although he was caught with a mobile phone inside, could this affect his parole? when can he apply for his parole?

he is in a young offenders inst.
what are they chances of getting parole once youve reached your tarriff?

you seem to be mistaken, if his I.P.P is 5years then that is his tariff ,ie minimum amount of time in custody....i had a 5 year tariff on the island ,[i won my appeal] but my friend R who is 23 had a 2year ipp,done all the courses etc.still inside 4 years later..I dont know about Y.Os ..i hope its easier...honestly IPPs are barbaric..stevewwfc
