autism bill

PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE can everyone who has a loved one or knows someone on the autistic spectrum fill in the link below. It is a petition to ask your MP to support the AUTISM bill on the 27th Feb. At last count there were 59 MPs signed up but they need a minimum of 100. It might hopefully make a difference to all families who are affected by autism, as at present there is NO guarantee that we will receive any help when our children finish off from school. I have a lots of friends who have been let down by the system and it is heartbreaking to see them in the mess they are in. I know a lot of you have already filled the petition and I am very grateful for it but we need to do more to achieve our goal.

Hiya. I did this and got a letter back from my MP. It says that the bill has strong cross party support and looks set to go through the second reading (whatever that might be - I assume thats good). However I can't see his name on the list so I may email him again and ask why that is

Had a reply from my MP. Unable to attend on that day due to prior commitments. Apologies. Well at least he read the letter and had the good manners to reply.

Beanmistriss, thank you for following up with your MP. It would be good if he/she supported the autism bill on the day becos we really need this to go through.

My lil' boy with autism who is only 5 gave me such a hard time on the bus yesterday when we were coming back from school that I nearly, nearly burst into tears and was just holding back until I reached my front door. I was just thinking I am going to be in big, big trouble when he is older so it is better I do something now which will help me and others in the future.

Thank you Schutzengel and yes, I agree that your MP had the courtesy to reply back.

Same here gromitdoo. I'll even fill in hte link again, under another name! Having an autistic child, I know how important it is that everything possible should be done to support the ones who have this condition, and the family and carers. x

HI both my daughters have a little boy with autism, one is 5 today, and the other 5 in june, so i,ll get them to do the petition thing , and they also know lots of people with autistic children, so will pass message on,

Atleast then we can be assured of a positive future rather than having no light at the end of the tunnel.
