Redundancy Consultation Period start?

Me and my colleagues have entered the 30 day consultation period for redundancy.

But one was off sick. The Company stated it posted the letter to her home. Monday morning and she turns up saying that she had not recieved the letter.

She has now had a meeting with the boss discussing what the letter said.

When does the consultation period actually start? Is it when the last person is officially informed?

No it would be impossible to manage like that.
Starts with the release of the letter from the company or announcement to all staff in the plant.
Companies aren't usually trying to time things down to the last few minutes in terms of 30 days minimum.
