Apparently Marks and Spencers are going to be selling a engagement ring with matching wedding ring for �18 each,you fancy one???

Surely it's not the amount of money that's spent on an engagement ring that counts, but the sentiment. I have an engagement ring with very small diamonds in. It didn't cost a lot of money, but I don't mind that at all. I was just so happy that I was going to marry the man of my dreams.

my first engagement ring cost my husband �12 just over 6 years ago. At the time we were at college, and it was all he could afford, and i didn't mind at all because it was very pretty, and i still wore it proudly.

To be really honest, I'd be miffed....If I ever get married, I'd expect my boyfriend to spend a bit more on the engagement ring than he would on a round of drinks in the local pub! Most of all, I would like him to take my taste into consideration. I don't mean it would have to be an expensive affair, I just mean I'd want a ring which he has put some thought in chosing, and not just picked up with his groceries.

I still have my ruby and diamond engagement ring,wedding ring and eternity ring theres a laugh,my mate melted all the gold jewellery that her ex had given her and had it made into a pendant!!!

I didn't have an engagement or wedding ring! I think the fact I had a bun in the oven at the time made the whole process more functional than romantic.... it's all over now anyway! ;-)

But this is not just an engagement ring. It's a Marks and Sparks cheap metal plated ring, lovingly crafted by five-year-olds in India.

And if the only engagement/wedding ring in the world was available at M&S, I'd rather not get married, thanks.

Yup - that would suit me fine. I've never seen the point in spending lots of money on an engagement ring - I'd rather put the money towards something useful.
