I've tried this in Motoring, but no response.... We are thinking of having a 'Powrtouch' motor mover fitted to our new caravan. Has anyone got one and what do you think of it? TIA
Yes and no.
That is to say that I don't have one on my van,
But my daughter has one on hers, which is the van we are using at the moment,
And yes it is fantastic, you can position the van any where you want without pulling or tugging,
Just remember that if you are going to park it close to a wall you will need the power bar to activate the motor on one side, but that does not apply to us, so we do not have one,
if i was buying a new van, that would be my first extra,
OK, best part of a grand, but worth every penny,
my van is getting on a bit now, and also it is going onto a seasonal pitch shortly, so not really worth the expense.
I have one on my Geist and it's excellent.
What I have found useful a couple of times is, when the site is wet and the towcar wheels haven't much grip you can just drive the caravan to the car on a drier area. The mover is so slow that the 'van wheels don't spin and dig in. Saves making a mess of the site too.
Thanks for all your answers. I've spoken to the dealer who is supplying the new caravan and they're actually doing a better price on supplying and fitting the mover than the manuacturers!
