Hi all. Is it just me, or is cb cr@p tonight? I have to concede that my dire contributions are partly to blame!

That's fab oldgrape. I have 3 half sisters and 1 half brother that I haven't seen since I was 3. I know their names but wouldn't have a clue where to begin looking for them.
Why were you all in care - will understand if you ignore Q. Quite a few unmarried mums in 60s Flower-power days had to give their babes for adoption - no Social help in those days and unwed mothers were stigmatised & traumatised. Fathers seemed unhindered.
Question Author
this was in the eighties my mum was an alcholic and would go for days without feeding us or changing us and i got pneumonia and a neighbour rushed me to hospital and social services got involved
I hope you had good foster parents. Are you in touch with your mum?

oldgrape - I'm so happy for you that you have found your family at last. And so sorry that you had such a hard time when you were little. Thank heavens for your lovely adoptive parents. Love and Hugs to you. Schutz.
Well you've got Abers to have fun with. No-one need feel alone with sites like this.

Are you a student or working? I hope you have a good network of family and friends to support you.
Question Author
thanks Schutzengel and tamborine
Question Author
i am a full time mum to a two and a half year old but am a qualified mental health nurse.

a load of abers on here have helped me through aload of hard times

thank god for the internet without it i would not have my dad, grandparents, aunts, uncles and now my brother
you sound very balanced and have been lucky with such caring adoptive parents. Your work probably helps you to understand alcoholic problems. It's a terrible spiral that destroys more than just the individual.
Question Author
your so right tamborine me and the bruv who got adopted together were very lucky my sister never got adopted so got shipped to placve to place and my brother who i have just found was ill treated and beaten so badly that he is deaf in one ear but he is so happy too be back in my life
OMG oldgrape....that sends shivers down me. I had a deaf girl stay with me who had been abused and beaten by alcoholic mother. Even thrown out of upstairs window when a babe. Poor girl is now in a worse state on drugs, 2 babes in care & she's on the streets. It's really hard for some out there, and they wont be helped.
