hi pips, I have had a quinsy, and the people who say it's no big deal, clearly never have!
I'm so glad your son is feeling better and responding well to the treatment.
I knew that mine wasn't just a sore throat - it feels as if your throat is closing up, it's difficult to swallow saliva and you feel you can't breathe. I've had many bouts of tonsilitis in my life and would gladly suffer another, as long as I don't get a quinsy!
Thank goodness for emergency doctors. I'll never forget the look on her face as she examined my throat.
I too was sick when drinking, but my hubby filled the freezer with my favourite ice lollies and ice cream, and they did help a bit.
Without over dramatising, you cannot imagine the pain your poor lad has gone through. I would, honestly, rather have a baby.
give him big hugs and buy him a big fat pressy!! x x x
