Dogs after menstration

We have a Boston Terrior who just got over her first period. Now she is sucking on one of her toy bears nose like it is a nipple and useing her paws to work it. Is this normal?

I have a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel bitch which did exactly the same thing until she was spayed. I believe it is quite normal in certain breeds and usually passes after a couple of weeks. The dog will get bored of getting no response from the toy and just chuck it outside.

This sounds like the start of an OCD behavior.  My labrador is OCD and licks everything.  Some dogs suck. Some dogs circle.  It depends on the dog how their OCD will play out.  A link that might interest you:
