I havn't seen a recent scare but if you are talking about the one where they say they give you breast cancer, I remember seeing something on T.V that it was a myth
Jenga, I wouldn't say a myth. Putting anything onto your skin will be absorbed (creams, lotions and patches) Anti-perspirants have aluminium which isn't normal for the skin to absorb anyway. The ideal thing is to wash the whole body down with natural soap every day and friction a bit of eau-de-cologne near certain areas.
My next step is to avoid deodorant and just use 007 eau-de-cologne. I love the smell anyway!
Rub a slice of freshly cut lemon over your armpits and let it rest / dry for five minutes before you have a shower. Won't make you instantly unsmelly, but apparantly works a treat after a week or so of constant daily applications. A girl from work has been doing it since she read about it in a paper a week ago. She doesn't pong, but it does have to be said that it's not yet high summer.
How about Pit Rock ? It's a mineral crystal which you dampen and rub on. Expensive, but it lasts for ages. And I noticed another brand of the same thing in Boots yesterday, which is a little bit cheaper than that one. My wife has been using it for years and she doesn't pong ... or perhaps I'm just inured to her scent :-)
Have you tried Bionsen? It comes in a roll on, stick or spray and it's aluminium free, with no alcohol.
This makes it a deodorant and not an anti perspirant.
I think all ap's probably have aluminium in them.
I buy mine from the supermarket.
