Is reike healing sometimes dangerous in terms of trapping energy in a certain area of ones body if performed by an amatueur?

Iv found reiki to be realy good but make sure its performed by a perfessional they will have certificates to prove it,And im sure that what ever you try reiki for you will feel loads better.

Well, wagonchrist, you based your idea on a false premise. There's no such thing as a reiki amateur, you're either a level one, two or a master. All can heal with equal results, the two and master can do it faster and at a distance, but the effects should be identical as they only become able to channel from outside, not generate their own energy. The symbols are also powerless in anyone with less than level 2, who can also do distant healing. Also, reiki energy itself is harmless, so can never produce any side effects. As I've been a reiki master for 7 years this is all taken straight from the official manuals.

Unfortunately with any form of healing, what is written on paper is obsolete.  You either have knowledge and understanding of the nature of energy or you don't, it is often intuitive.  An amatuer is someone who does not have the integrity to trust in oneself  I am going to be really unpopular here, but there are few Reiki etc practitioners understand the nature of energy.  I am not talking about the superstitious stuff, but the scientific stuff, physics etc.  This is essential as the etheric is a reflection of the physical.  I am a Reiki Master/Teacher and have been for many years, my interest is in the energetic nature of our being.    But your question.  Reiki doesn't draw in negativity, but like attracts like and under that rule, the person who has attracted neg energy has a lesson to learn,  it is easy to pass responsibility else where but that just deflects your question.  You are not asking about Reiki but the nature of energy, check out books on spiritual psychology, take care because it sounds as if you have been talking to a superstitious person, they create fear therefore attract negative energy.
