What constitutes cheating? In my opinion, a kiss (with tongues!) is all it takes.

I agree. If you were to kiss someone else and told your partner, they're not gonna be very impressed are they. And if you're cheating just by kissing, might as well do something really bad. In for a penny, in for a pound and all that....

Cheating is what Wayne Rooney did against Arsenal on Sunday, using underhand methods to achieve personal gain at someone else's expense.

If you do something for personal gain and feel bad about it for someone else, then I guess you have cheated.  If you don't feel bad then you are with the wrong person.

Any involvement with the opposite sex. I walk aroun looking at the floor and I expect my partner to do the same. Don't talk to people of the opposite sex then you can't be caught out. Really, though, it depends on who it was with. If he was on a lads week away had a one night stand felt like sh*t and would never seen her again and I wouln't ever see her then I could try and work at it. But if he snogged an ex or something I'd go mental.

On one of David Attenborough's anthropology documentary programmes about 20 years ago he explained how there was a particular type of tree in the jungle which has big juicy fruits at the top, but nasty spiky bits all down the trunk.  There is another type of tree which has a smooth bark suitable for climbing.  The local people in the jungle always climb up the smooth one to get the fruit from the spiky one.  Then he revealed that they can do this because they plant a smooth one next to any spiky one, and I said "that's cheating!"

Kissing or even just giving your phone number to someone is cheating to me. my ex did it and things were never the same, we broke up and he subsequently got together with her. I don't think flirting is cheating as long as it's not suggestive or indicative that something will happen or that party wants it to happen.

My fiancee is still getting emails from her ex of 3 years ago.  She tells me about them, and has told me she doesn't reply.  But if she did communicate with him, I would feel cheated (not physically obviously), but its not cheating is it...

Not really.  I don't think he is being a nuisance, which is why I tolerate it.  If she ignores him he might go away.  Should I tell her to change her email address?

A friend of mine claims to be 'in love' with a woman he works with.  She is married and is not really interested and he lives with his girlfriend of 8 years.  He and this woman have not so much as held hands, yet he is smitten by her. In my eyes, this is cheating as he has developed an emotional bond with someone other than his girlfriend.
