5 year old daughter ,,itch

my 5 year old daughter has had an itch in her private area for a couple of months.doctor has tried her on canastene cream but made her sore. we use no soaps or perfumes while bathing her.does anybody have a solution.many thanks....tracie...

she might have an infection, does she wipe herself when she goes to the toilet? if so is it possible she is wipeing back to front spreading bacteria? its very common in girls. i hope your litle one gets sorted soon x

My advise is to sit her in a bath with aboout 4inches of warm water and add a cupful of salt to the water and soak for ten minutes. Salt is a excellent healer for many infections and eye wash. Also I hear Natural yogurt smeared around private parts will help kill any bacteria.

if you dont get ease with the little girl - meantime clean and wipe her down with liquid paraffin - only about one pound in the pharmacy.
