They gave me a walking boot but said any problems go back. By lunchtime I was in tears as I was in so much pain so contacted the hospital and have to go back tomorrow and have plaster put back on for another 6 weeks.
I had decided over the weekend to have a detox so not a drop of alcohol in the place to console myself with. I will dose myself up with strong painkillers and cry into my cocoa later!

Didn't take enough water with it Bettyboo!
Actually a serious question. My consultant admitted today that he thought that after the original op the screws had been taken out too early (was another consultant at the time). They were only left in for three months. Anyone think a claim for compensation might be worth pursuing?

I am now registered disabled and as the last op involved a bone graft and fusion of the ankle will never be able to walk any great distance. I have been told I will have difficulty with any uneven surface or steps and will always need a walking stick.
I also had to sell my first floor flat as couldn't get up the stairs and am waiting to be rehoused by the local housing association as I have to sleep in the living room of the house I am renting.
Sorry don't mean to give you my life story but it's not the first time my consultant has said this and it does make me think it might be worth following up.
