my mum hold me down 4 injection

has anyone here had an injection in bottom as i am havin 1 nxt week and i sed 2 my mum i wasnt gonna hav it but she said i hav 2 and she would hold me down if i didnt im 13 and i know its 4 the best but am really scared am not good with needles and i dont want my male doc to see my bottom, but i know my mum will hold me down coz b4 i had to hav onee when we were camping and she held me down then!plz help my fear of needles and cwick.

If you do have to have an injection in your bottom, the best thing is just to lie on your front. Ask the doctor to be very quick as you don't like needles. It will be over before you know it.

Yes, what's the injection for, boomerang? Intramuscular injections are sometimes given in the bottom because it's a fleshier part of your body, and properly done, would probably be less painful than in the arm. At least you don't have to see the needle going in, and if you just relax, it should be over before you know it. You might get a sore patch afterwards, but it's better than having a heavy or aching arm.

Are you sure it has to be in your bottom as most injections are in the arm. Even if it is in your buttocks there is no reason why the doctor would have to remove your underwear, and if its a male doctor they are bound to have a female nurse with them. you dont need to panic. it will be ok

Have you spoke to your mum about your fears?? Is there a female doctor in the surgery?? Could you take your ipod or mp3 player along to distract yourself whilst you are getting the needle? What is the purpose of the injection??

Its not really your bum... They just literally pull your knicks just a bit away from your hip - it's right at the top its- on your hip but round the back.. so they don't really see your btm...
