Why do my wife's socks twist round while she is wearing them, so the heel ends up on the top part of her foot?

We are all getting tired, and the thread is degenerating...lol
I knoew...but I had to roll with mirth at mamya's last reply!
Sorry fly258 mea culpa♥ Mamya
\love to your wife too no offence intended
Yep, mine are fine in my shoes too, but if I walk around the house in my socks (and other items of clothing before you all start!) they twist everytime.
I don't usually notice it until it's done 180, and the soles are on the top of my feet.
*shrug*
This has got to be the funniest thread ever! lol. My socks don't twist - think your wifes are too big!
Thanks mamya you've made my day with the wellies in bed.

This happens to me ALL of the time, too, especially when I'm not  wearing good-fitting shoes, and most especially my right foot, my favored side. I think, in all the  likelihood, it's the way we walk. I think we probably--quite imperceptibly--rotate "roll over" our favored side foot towards the outside whenever we walk, thus causing the sock to slide or spin around on the foot. Also, I doubt this happens with true tube socks that have no shape. But no one likes/buys those, so...anyone willing to try the experiment? But that's my best guess: the way we unconsciously favor one side in our gait thus putting uneven movement in that direction. Pay attention and see if the side you don't favor does this or at least nearly as much.

Welcome . Unusual first post though.
