Ok! i work with this man!...he is waayyyy older than me...im 18 and hes about 50. dont get me wrong, hes not an OLLLD man who walks around with a cane.B4 i knew he was 50, i wud have sworn he was in his late 30s.Well ne ways,hes married and has kids...and im very attracted to him, and whenever i see him i get soo happy, and i really want him lol...is this normal? lol

Normal- why not? Age is not a big factor really, and the age someone looks and acts counts far more than their true one. I'm 44 and single, and I'd be very happy if any 18 year old was interested in me!

Oh dear, I am now feeling very old.  I can assure you not many people,such as I, in their fifties, walk about with a cane.  Most of us also have our own teeth, are quite trendy and have as much energy, if not more, than you youngsters. 

 

No problem in feeling attracted to him at all, just take great care.  He is married with kids - keep your thoughts to yourself.

If you think you will love him for ever (potentially helping him as he becomes infirm and incontinent in 20 years time), and you are willing to serious damage the lives of at least three others and live with yourself, then go for it. (Before I get abused, I know not all 70, or even 90 year olds are infirm and / or incontinent.  A minority are.  It is merely highlighting a possibility)

If it is a crush that at best gives short term pleasure, then perhaps keeping your thoughts to yourself may be the best option, and try to avoid him at the Christmas party.

If you are attracted to older men, then I am sure there is no shortage older men willing to date an 18 year old (see previous answers!).

Don't worry, I have the "hots" for my Uni professor LOL! I guess it is normal. There's something rather... distinguished about an old (ish) man. Just don't tell him about it!

Before going to the xmas party read "The Snapper" by Roddy Doyle or watch the film..... see if its a good idea! Youll get a laugh either way..... and as they say 50 is the new 30..... so enjoy

There's nothing wrong with fancying someone , married or not because after all if we are attracted to people then the chances are that others must be also. The most important factor here to remember however is that he is as you say married and therefore in my opinion off limits. The phrase 'look but don't touch' springs to mind. He has made his promise to another and as long as it stays as a harmless infatuation then no-one gets hurt but if you are thinking of pursuing this then you are heading into dangerous territory. Of course , there's nothing to suggest by your post that he has given you any kind of encouragement to say that his feelings are reciprocated. Best to keep your feelings to yourself. As has already been suggested , there are plenty of available men out there without you having to pursue the marrried ones.

hey krissy, i'm also 18 and have had a crush on my ex english teacher since i was 15 and he was 50, i've left school now but still think about him. he's also married with grown up children, i'm extremely glad i kept my feelings to myself and strongly suggest you do the same.
