I think so. It more depends on the placement of the veins. Go see a good piercer and they'll tell you straightaway.

My daughter also has a shsort tongue!  (She won't bless me for telling you this.)  They refused to pierce her tongue as it apparently could be dangerous!  (She was bitterly disappointed and I was greatly relieved). Be careful!

i have a short tongue and i have had it pierced for 5 years now and i have never had any problems with it and i love it (sometimes i forget its there) but that was 5 years ago and things may have changed since then but a good piercer will refuse to do it if they think it may be a problem (but most are just out to make money--beware!!) and if you do get it done prepare yourself for about 2 weeks of pain and not being able to eat, oh and it dosent hurt when you get it done either!
