Swollen face - any suggestions?

I had the pleasure of some root canal work at the dentist on Monday. One side of my face now looks as if I am a squirrel storing nuts.
Any tips to help me look normal again?

when this happened to me I just had to wait until it went away of it's own accord. Took several days and tried packs of frozen peas pressed against my face. Good luck. Don't worry, it'll go soon.

snags - even when number one son qualifies as a doctor, you don't think for a minute I'll let him anywhere near me for medical problems do you?????

Ideally you need to go back to your dentist to have the swelling drained.

You say you have had 'some root canal work' carried out. What stage has been achieved? Has the tooth only had the pulp removed and a temporary restoration placed, or have you had the final root canal treatment?

I suppose you could pad out the other cheek to match the swollen one? At least your face will look balanced.

Blimey - janbee's sensible answer has vanished!

The swelling was horrendous this morning and one of my eyes was closed.
However, as I write, the swelling has gone down to what it was yesterday (Wed) and the pain is only half as bad.
