Applying eyeliner
4 Answers
I'm quite new to using eyeliner, and bought a liquid one the other day. Does anyone have any advice about how to put it on your top lip? I can do it on the bottom, but not the top.

Boots do a really good liquid eyeliner but its in the form of a pen rather than the fine brush, alternatively Urband Decay do a good liner with a really small fine brush thats easier to manage.
If you want to persevere here's a few tips
- make sure the hand you're using is still, so rest your elbow on a table
- tilt your head back so your eyes are half closed
- apply from the middle to the outer corner and then from inner corner to middle
- or if thats too hard just make little dashes or dots and joinn them up
It will take time but once you master it you can get really nice results that you can't achieve with pencil liners, also i wouldn't suggest using a liquid liner on the bottom lid, it looks too harsh and usually comes off easily.
hth :)

using a liquid liner looks nicer and sexier than a pencil which tends to look thick and smudge. The best one (having used luquid liners for years) is Rimmel liquid eyeliner, in jet black. Apply a thin line as close to yoyr natural lash line as possible, and thicken the line slightly as you get nearer the outer corner of your eye. You can add a sexy flick after if you want. Just keep a steady hand and draw a continous line accross your top lid-i wouldnt draw dots with a liquid liner the line will end up looking wonky -you have to draw a contunious line, steady hand and not dead slow. Practce practce practice in front of a mirror, you can use it on bottom lash but use it where your lashes are thickest or it'll look too made up-use a pencil for inner lash line and inner corners of lower lid
i also use the rimmel one, which is very good, though MAC have recently bought out a black pen-type one which is meant to be good.
Like everyone else says - practice. I'm right handed, and used to have terrible trouble getting my "flick" as good on my left eye as the one on the right, but i can do it really well now,. if you get most of the eye right, and the flick goes a bit wonky, i find a cotton bud dipped in a bit of moisturiser will erase any mistakes, and you can try again.
