How do you approach and start a conversation with a girl you happen to like the look of. Its just that i get a little shy and find it hard to approach good looking girls.

All girls like a confident lad. As long as you are comfortable with yourself and don't try to act like someone that you're not. My fiance didn't dare approach me when he first saw me in a bar coz he thought i would laugh at him, but a couple of hours later he came over to me and i was impressed that he had built up the courage to speak to me. The most important thing is to not be sleazy, as us girls hate that! Presuming that u r old enough to drink is u r out, the first thing u could do is offer to buy her a drink, ask her what her name is, where she comes from etc......if u click with that person, you will find that you won;t even have to worry about talking because the conversation will flow naturally!
Try not to approach her when she has too many friends around her. A group of girls together would be too imtidating for you. Totally be yourself and see how the conversation flows. You may find that just cos she is pretty you may not have much in common/a connection. Girls are quite accomodating to shyness and find it cute/sweet.
I don't think i would be engaged now if I hadn't approached my fiance, cos I don't think he would ever have spoken to me. I've got no idea how I got the confidence to approach men really but I think it's just about being friendly first and foremost and remembering that the worst they can say is no...try to be funny in a natural way, comedy chat-up lines are good for that. Don't be cocky, make eye contact and be a gentleman. Maybe learn a bit about basic body language so you can read signals better. Go for it, I promise you won't regret it!
My boyfriend first came up to me in the pub I worked in. He was so shy and quiet, and he waited until he could see I was round the back on my own and politely introduced himself, gave me his number and said to phone him sometime if I ever fancied going out. It was so sweet!! He's since admitted how scared he was that I might laugh at him or throw his number back in his face! I hate cheesy chat up lines, and over confident guys who are 100% sure that you will go for them. Be polite and just be yourself, if the girl is bitchy towards you then she's not worth it!
i'd say defintely make eye contact first - if she moves away and totally ignores you then i wouldn't bother. but if she's looking back at you go for it! depends where you are, but you could alway make a comment about the surroundings - it's busy/hot/loud here today. Be friendly and keep the conversation light. As the others have said, the conversation will flow once you've broken the ice. When i met my man i was eyeing him up the whole night, dancing next to him, 'accidentally' bumped into him so i could say sorry and give him the chance to speak to me. he'd been giving me all the signals back but would just not talk to me! At the end of the night i couldn't stand it any more so i went over and started chatting. We've been together 3 and a half years now and i wonder what would have been if neither of us had plucked up the courage! so i think you should always go for it because you never know what could happen! My man now says he was just waiting for me to do all the chasing but i am sure it was cos he was too shy - thank god one of us made the first move!
