I haven't done a "fuss over nothing" thread for a while ...

But Swine Flu ... !!!

It's dominated the News for weeks.

"Pandemic" ... Aaaaahhhh ... we're all going to die !!!

But if you get it ... it's like a heavy cold ... but less than normal flu.

The "victim" interviewed on telly "by phone, because he's confined to his flat", said he had a few aches, and sneezed a lot, but now he's feeling okay.

So, erm ... a fuss over nothing?????

Is it the annual crap flu scare.

This year ... swine flu ... Aaaaaahhhhhh

Last year ... bird flu ... Aaaaaahhhhhh

The year befors ... Asian flu ... Aaaaaahhhhhh

I mean ... get a grip, guys !!!!!

f f s

!!!!!!!!!!!!!

One has to maybe question the Mexicans' diagnostic skills?

It's certainly f----d up their tourist industry for a while.
I quite agree Jogger

And maybe it's just me being ignorant, but doesn't this have NOTHING to do with swine at all, so why the fuss with some countries banning pig stuff.

Blimey, at least when we had BSE steak was cheap!!
I've got more chance of catching Gordon Brown in my cottage wearing a leotard and gold lame pumps with jesters bells on. Hang on, who's that at the door???

Whiffey ...

Could it also be that the Mexican population has a lower resistance to ANY flu type virus ...

Which gives us aches and sniffles

... but can be pretty serious to a non-resistant population ?
I saw a report on the news the other night where it was stated that the cases in Mexico hadn't increased at the predicted rate,so it is a possibility that the flu is not as contagious or virulant as first expected.
Phew!!

IIt's all to do with Gordon Brown wanting to shift public attention, as usual he despises us as thick plebs who hang on his every duplicitous word, divert us away from the total chaos he has deliberately created!!

I even agree with pru on this one.

Does gorden benet really think we are fools.

He has the same mentality as gormless whiffey has
that's funny...the number of posts has just gone down....
knobby, i respect you greatly, your opinions always hold value and more than that, plain old fashioned common sense, keep the caravan rolling for the sake of us all, Prudentia XXX
fatal mistake, we criticised GB didn't we, happens all the time!!
Prudentia.....for once I actually agree with you...!!!
pandemic doesn't mean it's especially deadly, just that it's widespread. And so it is; with modern mass travel it's shot all round the world very rapidly; lots of cases in the USA and even faraway New Zealand. The good news is that it's proved not to be especially lethal and doesn't seem to have been passed from human to human very easily. But that's no guarantee that the next one won't be, so governments need to have a rapid response strategy in place. I think the UK did all right - compare it with Russia, which I believe banned pork - a completely useless action.
