Ferritin levels.

Does anybody know what the causes for a drop in ferritin levels are?

Seems a useless investigation to me....well not useless just .......useless.

A low ferritin level is found in iron deficiency anaemia, which would then have to be investigated further e.g
1) Dietary deficiency
2) Malabsorption of iron
3) Losing it...heavy periods, piles etc.
