what is a stigmatism

My optician told me i had a stigmatisim in my left eye or somehting like that, can anyone tell me what that means i think i have always had it but have never thought to ask what it means

It's nothing to worry about !
Lots of peope have it .I have it and am very short sighted .It can be corrected with the proper specs etc .Your optician should be able to advise .
