Does anyone know how long it takes....

For mammagram results to come through. I had one over two weeks ago now, following a lump found in my breast, but have still not heard anything. Is this "no news is good news" do you think?
I am also having an ultrasound scan soon, is it possible they will wait for the results of that first?

I dontknow how things are done there by you but what usually happens here is that the results are sent on tothe doctor and we are told to phone after five days. If anything nasty appears they will contact you sooner. Also the ultra sound is usually done at the same time and results come together. I would phone for the results and put your mind at ease

I was told I'd get my results in 3 weeks. they didn't turn up so I called the hospital. they grudgingly gave me the result over the phone then said they'd send them out. it took another 2-3 weeks.

didn't they explain before you left the hospital?

I got a letter direct three weeks after the test. If you are worried phone your surgery, I would think if there was anything to worry about, you would have heard by now.

I received a letter from my gp two weeks after my mammo, fortunately giving me the all clear!

I think I shall try my GP first then the hospital.

All they said at the hospital was that they would contact me. However I would have thought I would have heard by now.
