Is there a minimum time that your car can be parked before a clamper is allowed to clamp you? Yesterday my hubby was only parked for 30 seconds, just long enough to get out of the car, enter the building where he saw the warning notice about clamping, and then walk out of the building to check if he was parked in the right place, only to find that he was already clamped!! What's even more annoying is that this was our local DVLA office and they only have 4 spaces allocated to them, in a car park of around 30 spaces, and it cost him 125 cash there and then to have the clamp removed, only to find that there were no spaces available inthe DVLA's allotted area.

Hi caroline:
Sadly, this type of activity will continue until the Government gets some legislation on the statute books to regulate the clampers.
The bottom line is, though, don't give them half a chance otherwise this is what unfortunately happens. If in doubt, don't take the chance. Better finding a legit parking space a few hundred yards away and walking. It's cheaper.
